China’s Digital Currency Electronic Payment went live on July 28

China’s central bank starts to issue digital currency, which is called Digital Currency Electronic Payment (DCEP), for internal piloting in Shenzhen, Suzhou, Xiongan, and Chengdu. It will soon be rolled out nationwide, and it is illegal to reject DCEP according to the government notification.
