I.The New Federal State of China News

1.U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says on Jan. 15 that all available evidence now suggests that the CCP virus outbreak originated in Communist China. He also emphasized that researchers within the Wuhan Virus Institute became ill in the fall of 2019 with signs of illness similar to the CCP virus epidemic, contrary to the CCP’s longstanding claim that no researchers within the institute were infected. Pompeo’s remarks represent definitive proof of the origin of the virus in the U.S. and a call for a real, thorough investigation by the World Health Organization (WHO) investigation team currently in Wuhan.

2.Documents show that after Communist China forcibly promoted Chinese language learning in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, again recently they increased their efforts to conduct an “ideological review” of primary and secondary school textbooks on Mongolian local history. Some of these Mongolian teaching materials are banned because of their emphasis “on individual ethnic identity.

3.The Hong Kong government is building a grand network firewall similar to mainland China to control the free transmission of information. HKIRC, the agency designated by the Hong Kong government to undertake the administration of Internet domain names under the .hk country, has added a “fair use policy for domain name registration”, which stipulates that it shall not “disturb the operation of the Hong Kong government”, advocates or incites illegal activities, insults or harasses any person or organization. The Secretary for Security, Li Jiachao, also said in the Legislative Council on the 15th that communications and secret surveillance would be intercepted in the event of crimes involves “endangering national security”, and stresses that the police are also supervised and must report to the National Security Council.

4.In order to deal with the political risks brought about by epidemic prevention and control, officials from all over the Communist Party of China have generally implemented the “wartime state” plan to reflect due diligence, but it has caused a lot of blow to the economy. Xinhua News Agency commented on the 16th, referring to the recent outbreak, or even no epidemic of local governments often declared into the “wartime state“, is an ”abuse” practice, which not only confuses the masses to increase unnecessary panic but also affects normal production and life.

5.The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) recently released an assessment report on the actual defense expenditure in Communist China, believing that  Communist China, as the second-largest country in the world, spends $240 billion on defense in 2019. The report points out that the business income of enterprises with military backgrounds is not included.

6.The Communist Party of China is completely boycotting Australian coal. Recently, it has been rumored in the media that most of the coal purchased by Communist China from other countries is Australian coal. The news did not disclose whether there is a price increase on Australian coal sold through a third country.

7.Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Saturday (January 16) that Communist China will provide 1 million doses of the Beijing Sinovac vaccine. Cambodia has been an ally of Communist China for many years, accepting billions of dollars in concessional loans and investments from the latter.

8.The Hong Kong Democracy Council, a U.S.-based organization of Hong Kong people, issued a statement on January 15 that five young Hong Kong protesters arrived in the United States to seek asylum after a difficult and dangerous journey to freedom.

9.The epidemic is unfolding across the mainland, and in Hebei Province, it has spiraled out of control, with official figures calling into question. On the afternoon of January 16, the vice governor of Hebei Province, said at the epidemic press conference that as of January 14, the second round of nucleic acid testing in the city is completed, 247 positive cases are detected. A week ago, the first round of positive nucleic acid testing was 354 cases.

10.On January 12, almost all computers in charge and transport and production of the entire section of the Dalian Railway were out of service due to the discontinued support for “Flash” software. The display pages of the on-board system of the Railway Bureau stop functioning, the train operation diagram cannot be viewed, the train formation sequence table cannot be formulated, and the transfer plan cannot be arranged. 

The incident reflects China’s reliance on U.S. technology in all aspects of production and life, and decoupling will cause a halt in all aspects.

II. World News

1.President Trump receives the highest award from Morocco, a North African country, on January 15 for his hard work in the normalizing of relations between Israel and Morocco. That is something that the U.S. government thought impossible to achieve in the past. This is the fourth Middle East country after the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan willing to form a relationship with Israel. Jared Kushner, a senior White House adviser, and Avi Berkowitz, the Middle East envoy, have also received other praises for their work on Israeli and Moroccan diplomacy, which they accomplished last December.

2.SpaceX’s Starlink satellite-based Internet service has successfully achieved an amazing download speed of 190Mbps.
